| RPMGO Awards: Winner for week March 5-11 Posted: 13 Mar 2010 12:22 AM PST Hello and welcome to the conclusion of our RPMGO Awards for the last week. The last seven days were pretty busy, although they pale in comparison with the Geneva Motor Show ones. We’ve had our share of good and bad news, so let’s see which ones were your favorites. Perfect ShiftPorsche made the Perfect Shift this week, after revealing that the fabulous 918 Spyder Concept will be making its way into production, sooner rather than later. With 718 HP of hybrid power, we’re eagerly awaiting this “green” convertible. Second spot was occupied by the gorgeous GQ by Citroen concept, which proves that the worth of the French company’s design studio. The aggressive edges and the elegant shape make this sportscar something we also want to see roll off the assembly line. Over RevIn the Over Rev category we have a tie, between the horrendous Sbarro Autobau concept, which was showcased in Geneva, and the fact that Mitsubishi is closing down its Ralliart division, due to the economic downturn. The new cases of Toyota Prius unintended acceleration also gathered a couple of votes this week, proving that people aren’t big fans of the problems Toyota is going through. | Ford unveils first photos of Taurus-based Police Interceptor Posted: 12 Mar 2010 06:05 AM PST  Ford promised at the end of 2009 that it will be showcasing a new Police Interceptor, due out in 2011, in order to replace the aging Crown Victoria from active service with law enforcement departments across the USA. Now, after a lot of speculation, the Blue Oval decided to release the first pictures of the car, based on the current Taurus sedan. It seems that rumors about a US-spec Ford Falcon from Australia were wrong, and the company is betting big on the patriotic roots of the Taurus.  No other details were given, but voices are already saying that a regular 3.5-liter V6 with front-wheel drive is set to serve as a regular cop car, while the true Interceptors will be using the EcoBoost-ed 3.5-liter V6 coupled with AWD, currently available on the top-of-the-range Taurus SHO. Expect more details in the following days, as Ford will showcase the vehicle to fleet buyers in Las Vegas. Until then, we’re pretty excited about the new Taurus Police Interceptor. How about you?
