Video: 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee gets first patriotic ad Posted: 11 Jun 2010 12:16 AM PDT The 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee is Chrysler’s biggest bet this year. It is the first all-new model launched after the US carmaker was taken over by Fiat and promises to kick start sales once more. In order to really drive the point home, Chrysler has released the first ad for the new Grand Cherokee, designed to emphasize the patriotism of a car designed and made in the USA. Chrysler’s new ad campaign will also feature this theme, so get ready to see more commercials in the following months. Until then, hit the jump and check out this new footage with the 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee SUV. Post published on Rpmgo.com Related posts:

2011 Mercedes-Benz ML63 AMG gets refreshed Posted: 10 Jun 2010 11:59 PM PDT While not as ostentatious like the BMW X5 M or X6 M or as popular as the Porsche Cayenne, the Mercedes-Benz ML63 AMG has also been a prime offer on the performance SUV market. Now, for the 2011 model year, the German company decided to issue a little refresh, in order to keep things interesting for this AMG-tuned SUV beast. The engine is still the same, but we’re pretty sure people won’t mind that the 6.2-liter naturally aspirated V8 still develops 503 HP and 465 lb-ft of torque. The real changes are on the outside. Albeit pretty minor, you will notice things like the darkened headlamps and taillights, a restyled hood plus chromed (of course) front and rear underguards. The same 20-inch wheels are standard, but you can get 21-inch ones, if you want to be more special. The seven-speed Speedshift transmission is still available on the inside, where not a lot has changed. Until the next ML Class generation appears, the 2011 Mercedes-Benz ML63 AMG will continue to remain the top-of-the-range model. Source: Mercedes-Benz Post published on Rpmgo.com Related posts:

Video: 2011 Saab 9-5 gets showcased with handling test Posted: 10 Jun 2010 11:42 PM PDT Without a doubt one of the biggest roles in Saab’s resurrection is reserved for the new 2011 9-5 sedan. We’ve already heard quite a lot of details and, from all the photos released up until now, we really like what the Swedish brand has done in terms of design. Now, in order to showcase how the new 2011 9-5 handles, Saab has released a fresh video. In it, Stefan Rundquist, the performance integration manager of vehicle dynamics (now that’s a job title), takes the 9-5 through a handling circuit, including the moose test. While no drifting or extreme driving is present, the video is still worth a view, in order to admire the design of the new 9-5. So, hit the jump and check it out. Mercedes-Benz CLC hatchback to end production? Posted: 10 Jun 2010 11:28 PM PDT With the last Mercedes-Benz C Class generation, the company tried to attack the sports hatchback market by releasing the C Class Sports Coupe. Its results weren’t that impressive, but the German company continued that effort with the current generation, by launching the CLC hatchback. That has failed too. As such, rumors are now saying that MB will soon end the production of the niche model due to low sales and because the C Class is soon set to get another coupe model, this time with a boot. The rumors are based on the fact that the Juiz de Fora plant Mercedes owns in Brazil will soon receive new equipment, in order to manufacture the Actros commercial truck. As such, it seems that there will be no place left to produce the CLC hatch. The report has yet to be confirmed by Mercedes-Benz, but we wouldn’t be too shocked if it turns out to be true. Will you miss the CLC? Share your thoughts below. Source: Web Motors via Autoblog Post published on Rpmgo.com Related posts:

Buick Excelle GT sedan revealed in China, prepares for US debut in 2011 Posted: 10 Jun 2010 11:12 PM PDT General Motors and its Chinese partner, SAIC, have officially revealed the new Buick Excelle GT sedan, under their joint venture company, Shanghai GM. We were already treated to a few spy photos before the Beijing Motor Show, but this time these are the actual press photos. The Excelle GT sedan sits on the same platform as the Chevrolet Cruze or the Opel/Vauxhall Astra. It previews not only the future sedan version of the Astra, but also the small compact sedan GM is preparing for the US market. We’ve already seen patent sketches of that model, and notwithstanding a few design touches, it’s the spitting image of the Chinese Excelle GT sedan. The model will be launched with two engines, a 145 HP 1.8-liter naturally aspirated unit and a 181 HP 1.6-liter turbocharged one. Expect the US version to appear next year, but with another name, instead of the Excelle GT. Source: Buick Post published on Rpmgo.com Related posts:

2011 Suzuki Swift gets first details and photos Posted: 10 Jun 2010 10:55 PM PDT Suzuki has just revealed the first photos of the 2011 Swift compact hatchback. This new model boasts a refreshed design, as well as new and improved powerplants. First off, as you can see above, the style of the new Swift has been streamlined a bit. In terms of size, the new compact is 3.5 inches longer than its predecessor, guaranteeing more legroom. Eco-consious customers are definitely going to be thrilled by the improved 1.2-liter inline-four cylinder engine, capable of 93 HP. Together with the variable valve timing tech and the manual transmissions, the 2011 Suzuki Swift can achieve an impressive 47 mpg (US) on the combined EU cycle, plus 116 g/km of CO2. Sadly for US compact hatch fans, the new Swift hasn’t been confirmed for launch. Instead, this fall will see it hit the European markets. Source: Suzuki Post published on Rpmgo.com Related posts:
